Shelves and Storage

A free-standing tiered shelf uses floor space, while a wall shelf with hooks keeps storage and hanging space above the floor. Choose a corner design for a corner layout, or compare square and rectangular footprints for an open wall. Check the selected model’s overall dimensions, storage levels and installation requirements, with clearance for doors, fixtures and access to stored items.

Teak shelves provide storage for towels, toiletries and everyday essentials. Compare the shelf dimensions with the items you want to store. For wall-mounted models, capacity depends on the shelf, wall construction and fixings together. If you need a weight limit or advice on suitable fixings, contact ARB before installing.

Teak’s naturally occurring oils contribute to water resistance, making it well suited to humid bathrooms and mudrooms. The Grade A heartwood used in our Fiji shelves, bath shelves and wall shelves with hooks is also valued for its resistance to decay. Allow air to circulate around the wood and let it dry after wet use.

For normal indoor use, occasional dusting or wiping is usually sufficient. Clean as needed with mild soap and water and a soft cloth or soft-bristle brush, remove residue and allow the teak to dry. Mounted shelves can dry in place. Teak may naturally develop a silver-grey patina with exposure. We do not recommend applying oils, coatings or any finishing products.
