Hampers & Steps

Choose by intended use. A hot-tub step provides an access step beside a spa; a toilet footstool supports the feet while seated at a toilet. A household step stool and a laundry hamper serve different purposes. Compare the selected product’s intended use, dimensions and design before ordering, rather than treating every step or stool as interchangeable.

Check the selected model’s listed overall height and tread dimensions against your access layout. For a toilet footstool, compare its height, top style and clearance around the toilet base for seated use. For a household step stool, review that model’s intended use and dimensions. If you are unsure which model fits your layout, contact ARB before ordering.

Grade A teak heartwood contains naturally occurring oils and is valued for water and decay resistance, making the wood well suited to humid bathrooms and outdoor spa settings. The slatted surfaces on our hot-tub steps let water drain through. Allow air to circulate around the teak and let it dry after wet use. For hampers, these wood benefits apply to the teak frame; follow the sacks’ own care instructions.

For steps: the climb height, plus the clear floor space in front of the tub or hot tub so the step is not a trip hazard in a walkway. For footstools: the clearance around the base of the toilet, including the bowl overhang. For hampers: width, depth and height of the closet, alcove or corner - and check that a door or drawer still opens fully once the hamper is in place.

For mostly dry indoor use, occasional dusting or wiping is usually sufficient. Clean teak as needed with mild soap and water and a soft cloth or soft-bristle brush, remove residue and allow it to dry. Keep outdoor step surfaces clear of leaves and buildup. For hampers, clean the teak frame separately and follow each sack’s own fabric-care instructions. Teak may develop a silver-grey patina with outdoor exposure. We do not recommend applying oils, coatings or any finishing products.
