Quick answers for choosing, placing, and caring for teak indoor table pieces.
Choose a dining or extension table for meals and gatherings, a coffee table for lounge seating, a side or nesting table for smaller surfaces, and a spa table piece for bathrooms, dressing areas, or flexible indoor use.
Some teak table styles can be used outdoors, but placement matters. Slatted teak tabletop styles are well suited to outdoor use because water can drain between the slats and the wood has space to expand and contract naturally. Solid-top tables, tables with drawers, and indoor-focused pieces should be used outdoors only under cover and should not be left with standing water on the surface.
Measure the table size, walking clearance, chair space, and surrounding furniture. For extension tables, check both the closed and extended dimensions. For side, coffee, nesting, or spa table pieces, check height and footprint so the piece fits naturally beside seating, beds, benches, or bathroom fixtures.
For regular care, wipe as needed, clean only with mild dish soap when necessary, and let the table dry between uses. For solid-top pieces used in covered outdoor areas, wipe standing water promptly. When teak furniture is exposed to outdoor elements, it can naturally develop an elegant silver-gray patina over time; this color change is normal, is not a defect, and does not compromise the wood's structure. If you prefer to refresh the rich golden tone, rinse with clean water, scrub with a soft-bristle brush using warm water and mild dish soap, work with the grain, rinse thoroughly, let the teak dry completely, then lightly sand with fine 220-grit sandpaper if needed for a smoother surface. ARB Teak products are made exclusively with Grade A teak, so we recommend relying on teak's natural oils for self-maintenance.
